Why Give

As a faith-based, non-profit school, Mizel JCDS appreciates your contribution to further the school’s mission. It is taught that we give Tzedakah (“charity”) not because we have to, but because we want to. Therefore, your gift, given without obligation, is more than a financial transaction. It benefits you as the donor as well as the school, because the gift builds relationships and strengthens our world as we educate the next generation of citizens.

Charity or, in Hebrew, Tzedakah, is a fundamental Jewish belief and act. The Hebrew word Tzedakah translates to Righteousness. Righteousness is an ethical obligation for social justice, supported by charity as we educate the next generation of citizens.

In addition to the normal academic subjects, our school teaches the students Tikkun Olam, “repairing the world”. Through teaching the importance of Repairing the World, we are able to pass onto our students the goodwill which you show with your contribution.

Your gift to Mizel JCDS empowers our school to grow, to explore new ideas and educational programs. Supported by an outstanding faculty, each student is able to meet his/her/their intellectual potential.

Tribute gifts, either for life cycle events or memorial tributes, are gifts which show gratitude, respect and admiration. Such gifts are important ways to support our school. Personalized acknowledgement of each contribution is sent to the honoree or the family of the person being memorialized.

Many companies have programs which match contributions made by employees to qualifying non-profit organizations such as Mizel JCDS. Please check with your employer to determine if your company will match your gift.
