Thanks to the tireless efforts of parents and grandparents, Mizel JCDS PTO can offer enriching events that bring the school together and benefit the students. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a great way to get involved and feel connected to the school families, faculty and staff. The PTO encourages family involvement and volunteerism to promote educational programs, financial welfare through fundraising projects and service to the school.
PTO’s fundraising aids in keeping tuition at a more affordable level, as well as purchasing items not covered by tuition income. The Annual Scholastic Book Fair earns money to purchase books and other materials for the library and classrooms. The Book Fair also allows parents and friends of the school to either purchase materials for themselves or to donate books/materials to Mizel JCDS.
Through the PTO, the faculty and staff are honored with a week of Teacher Appreciation activities. Other volunteer opportunities allow parents to help teachers in their classrooms and assist in the school office with projects when needed. Parents can join students as chaperones on field trips and assist in holiday programs.
PTO meetings and gatherings provide parents the time to relax and get to know other parents. Planning events and projects take advantage of the skills and experience parents bring to Mizel JCDS that promote the school in terms of recruitment and marketing the school throughout the community.

Mizel JCDS wants to help repair the world through, Tikkun Olam. During the month of September, please consider donating items to benefit Emergency Infant Services. Bins will be located at the front of the Jewish Federation of Tulsa and by the school office!
Look at our very own Executive Director!! She is doing great things at Mizel JCDS!!Meet Amanda Anderson, Executive Director and Head of School at the Mizel Jewish Community Day School, the only Jewish day school in Oklahoma.
"Professional development in Oklahoma that is specific to the community we serve is limited, so MTEI is a welcomed addition!" said Amanda.
As the first Participant from her school and the second from Oklahoma in MTEI, Amanda values the program’s reflective practices. She said, “It’s invaluable to bring these insights home and implement them—it’s not just homework assignments, but meaningful reflections.”
We’re excited to have Amanda as part of Cohort 11 and are eager to see how she continues to advance Jewish education in Tulsa.

At Mizel JCDS, all of our students learn Hebrew! Learning a second language helps our students learn faster and easier, have improved problem-solving skills and creativity, and have more career opportunities in adulthood!

Mizel JCDS is beyond thankful for the continued support of our sponsors. During our Bingo fundraiser, these sponsors helped Mizel JCDS EXCEED our fundraising goal!
